Since 2011, Shih An Farm introduced cage equipment in compliance with the EU regulations of animal welfare and is Asia’s first egg layer farm that fully uses the equipment in compliance with these regulations. Shih An Farm owns Shih An Farm owns Humane monitoring" logo ( for Humane animal production systems) and Friendly animal products" logo (for Friendly production systems).
Shih An Farm raises its pullet from day 1 after they are hatched and provides them comfortable space for growth. Automatic watering raising method is applied. Totally-enclosed automatic equipment is introduced to adjust humidity and temperature that are most suitable for layers with the computer.
Inside the enriched cages that care for animal welfare, each layer on average can have a space about 750 square centimeters for them to walk and rest. There are also areas for games, claw Shortener, and perches for layer to show their true spirit. Egg laying nests are separately planned to allow layers to lay eggs in a relatively secured environment.
There is no forced molting on the Farm. The “nanny” team including veterinarians, nutritionists, advisors, and Farm Quality Assurance Group are specifically responsible for health management of the layers, and they care for the layers’ health from time to time.
